Pros
- Powerful 15,000Pa suction with carpet boost for pet hair and dust
- Real self-cleaning HydroJet roller prevents smearing and mold
- Zero-tangle brush eliminates manual hair removal
- All-in-One station automates emptying, washing, drying and refilling
- LiDAR navigation protects privacy and works well in low light
Cons
- Obstacle avoidance only detects objects 3cm or larger, so small cables may be missed
- Mop lift of 10.8mm is limited for high-pile carpets
- Large dock requires dedicated floor space
The eufy C28 is a robot vacuum and mop combo upgraded from the X10 Pro, designed for busy households and pet owners who want thorough cleaning with minimal hands-on work. It combines strong vacuuming and true roller mopping in one automated system for hard floors and carpets.
Real world performance is led by 15,000Pa turbo suction with automatic carpet boost to lift pet hair, dander and fine dust. The 28cm HydroJet roller spins at 270 RPM through 24 water ports and uses a built-in scraper to separate dirty water, so it scrubs away paw prints and spills without spreading grime.
Design and build focus on autonomy and convenience. The All-in-One Station auto-empties dust into a 3L bag, auto-washes the mop, dries it with 50C hot air and collects wastewater for weeks of maintenance free use. LiDAR navigation maps multiple floors, avoids obstacles without a camera and keeps noise low.
There are some tradeoffs to note. Detection is limited to obstacles 3cm or larger, so very small items can be missed. The mop lifts only 10.8mm, which suits low pile rugs but not plush carpet, and the station has a larger footprint than compact docks.
Overall, the C28 is a strong choice for pet families and anyone who wants real mopping plus powerful vacuuming without daily upkeep. If you value zero-tangle cleaning, continuous self-cleaning mopping and long hands-free operation, it delivers excellent everyday value.

The Shark AV2501S AI Ultra is a self-emptying robot vacuum designed for busy households and pet owners who want consistent, hands-free cleaning. It combines powerful suction with smart LiDAR navigation to handle carpets, hard floors, pet hair and everyday dust without constant supervision.
In real world use, Matrix Clean stands out by moving in a precise grid pattern and making multiple passes over dirtier areas for noticeably better coverage. The 360 degree LiDAR quickly maps your home, cleans in organized rows, avoids obstacles day or night, and the self-cleaning brushroll prevents hair wrap to maintain performance.
Design is practical and sturdy, with a low profile robot that fits under furniture and a bagless self-empty base that holds up to 30 days of debris. The true HEPA system captures fine dust and allergens inside the base, and overall build quality feels reliable for daily automated use with simple app and voice controls.
There are some drawbacks to consider. It does not include mopping, the auto-empty cycle can be quite loud, and the base requires noticeable floor space. You will also need the SharkClean app to access full mapping features, schedules and virtual boundaries.
Overall, the AV2501S delivers thorough, low maintenance cleaning with excellent pet hair pickup and smart navigation. If you want a set and forget robot vacuum with accurate mapping and a bagless self-empty system, it is a compelling choice for modern homes.

- HydroJet system delivers real mopping performance with continuous clean water and 1.5kg downward pressure
- Exceptional hands-free automation with self-emptying, self-washing and hot air drying
- Strong 20,000Pa suction and DuoSpiral anti-tangle design excel in pet homes
- Precise edge cleaning via CornerRover arm and intelligent 200+ object avoidance
- Long 125 minute runtime with 5-floor mapping and smart app controls
Cons
- Only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, no 5GHz connectivity
- Lacks hot water mop washing found on higher-end S2 model and mop lift is limited to 10.8mm
- All-in-One station has a large footprint and max suction mode reaches 61dB
The eufy E25 is a flagship robot vacuum and mop combo designed for large, busy households that want true hands-free cleaning. It combines vacuuming and HydroJet roller mopping in one device, making it perfect for pet owners, families with mixed hard floors and carpet, and anyone tired of manual mopping.
Its standout feature is the HydroJet Deep Cleaning System, which refreshes the 11.4-inch roller mop twice per second with clean water while applying 1.5kg of pressure to scrub away coffee, sauce and dried stains. Paired with 20,000Pa turbo suction, DuoSpiral anti-tangle brushes and the CornerRover extendable side brush, it delivers consistent edge-to-corner results and smart dirt detection for heavily soiled areas.
Build quality is premium and practical, with laser-guided navigation, 200+ object avoidance and multi-level mapping for up to 5 floor plans. The All-in-One Station automates the tedious work by auto-emptying into a 3L bag, self-washing the roller, drying with 50C hot air and refilling water, while Matter, Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri support add flexible control.
There are a few tradeoffs to consider. It only connects via 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, the station is bulky and needs dedicated floor space, and it lacks the hot water washing of the Omni S2. The 10.8mm mop lift is fine for low pile carpet but not ideal for thicker rugs, and noise hits 61dB on max mode.
Overall, the eufy E25 is a powerful, low-maintenance cleaner that actually mops rather than just dragging a wet pad. If you want deep stain removal, excellent pet hair handling and weeks of hands-free operation without sacrificing edge cleaning, it is one of the most complete options in its class.
Pros
- Hands-free convenience with 75-day self-emptying dock and sealed allergen bag
- Powerful 4-stage cleaning system with strong suction and edge-sweeping brush
- Versatile 3 cleaning modes with customizable suction, water flow and SmartScrub
- Accurate ClearView LiDAR mapping with app control, scheduling and keep-out zones
Cons
- Requires 2.4 GHz WiFi for setup and operation, no 5 GHz support
- Microfiber mop pad needs manual washing, no auto-wash or drying like premium models
- Bristle brush requires more frequent hair removal than rubber rollers and uses replaceable bags
The iRobot Roomba 105 Combo with AutoEmpty Dock is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop built for everyday wet and dry cleaning. It is ideal for busy households, pet owners and anyone with a mix of hard floors and area rugs who wants reliable automation without daily upkeep.
In real world use, the 4-stage system with 70X power-lifting suction, multi-surface bristle brush and edge-sweeping brush pulls embedded dirt and dust from corners with ease. You can choose vacuum only, mop only or a combined pass, adjust suction and water flow, and activate SmartScrub for 2X deeper cleaning on sticky, high-traffic spots while it automatically avoids carpets when mopping.
Build quality is solid and user friendly, with ClearView LiDAR that maps up to three floor plans in about 10 minutes and navigates smoothly around furniture and stairs. The dock automatically empties debris into a sealed bag that traps 99 percent of allergens, the washable microfiber pad can be reused up to 30 times, and control is simple via the Roomba Home app, voice assistants or onboard buttons.
There are tradeoffs compared to higher-end Roombas. The mopping system uses a flat microfiber pad without spinning pads, auto-washing or drying, so you will rinse pads yourself. It also relies on a bristle brush that needs more hair removal than dual rubber rollers, and it needs a 2.4 GHz network plus ongoing bag replacements.
Overall, the Roomba 105 Combo hits a sweet spot of power, smart navigation and true hands-free convenience. If you want strong suction, smart mopping with dry carpets and long intervals between emptying without paying for premium auto-wash features, it is an excellent value and easy recommendation.

- Long runtime up to 160 minutes with auto-charge for large spaces
Cons
- Hair-cutting function only activates after cleaning completes, not during the cycle
- Large self-emptying dock requires more floor space than a standard charger
- Battery drops to about 70 minutes when using Max suction mode
The ELLONI D15S MAX is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop built for busy families, pet owners and large homes with mixed hard floors and carpet. It is designed to run for weeks without intervention, handling daily dust, pet hair and debris automatically.
Performance is driven by 10,000Pa suction with four adjustable levels and Auto Boost that increases power on carpets. The advanced dToF LiDAR maps your home accurately, supports multi-level maps and no-go zones, and uses 360 degree avoidance to navigate around furniture without missing spots.
Build quality focuses on convenience and low maintenance. The 3.5L self-emptying station holds up to 90 days of dirt, while the anti-tangle roller with a built-in cutting blade prevents hair wrap and the dual side brushes sweep corners and under furniture effectively.
There are a few tradeoffs to consider. The self-emptying dock has a larger footprint than compact charging bases. The hair-cutting feature works only after the job is finished, so heavy shedding may need an occasional manual check, and Max mode reduces runtime significantly.
Overall, the D15S MAX delivers premium LiDAR navigation, strong suction and true hands-free operation in one affordable package. For anyone wanting powerful, pet-friendly cleaning with minimal upkeep, it is a smart and reliable choice.

- Effective object detection and avoidance for cluttered homes
- Anti-hair wrap brushroll reduces maintenance for pet owners
Cons
- Self-empty base has a larger footprint and needs dedicated floor space
- Available only in grey, which may not match all home decor
- Lacks advanced mapping features found on higher priced flagship robots
The Shark Navigator RV2120AE is a smart robot vacuum designed for first time owners and busy families who want reliable hands-free cleaning. It combines SmartPath Navigation with spot LiDAR and strong suction to handle daily dust, pet hair and debris on carpets and hard floors.
In real world use, its row-by-row mapping delivers up to 1.5 times more coverage than random bounce robots, while object detection helps it navigate around shoes, cords and toys. The self-cleaning brushroll pulls hair and dirt from surfaces without wrapping, and the 50 percent stronger suction ensures a deeper clean in a single pass.
Built in a clean grey finish, the robot feels solid and low profile enough to glide under sofas and beds. The bagless self-empty base is the standout convenience feature, automatically emptying the robot after each clean and holding up to 60 days of dirt without needing replacement bags.
There are a few tradeoffs to consider. The base station has a larger footprint than a standard charging dock, so it needs a dedicated spot along a wall. Like most LiDAR robots, very cluttered rooms or thick high pile rugs can occasionally slow it down, and it offers fewer advanced mapping customizations than premium flagship models.
Overall, the Navigator RV2120AE delivers excellent value for anyone seeking powerful, low maintenance cleaning with smart navigation and true bagless convenience. It is an ideal pick for pet owners and busy households that want consistent results without daily intervention.
Model: Shark Navigator RV2120AE, Grey
Navigation: SmartPath Navigation with spot LiDAR, row-by-row cleaning pattern
Suction: Up to 50 percent more suction versus competitor robot vacuums, plus 1.5x more coverage versus Shark ION

Brushroll: Self-cleaning, anti-hair wrap design for carpets and hard floors
Smart Features: Object detection and avoidance, Wi-Fi connectivity for app and scheduling control
Pros
- Powerful 12,000Pa suction excels on carpets, rugs and hard floors
- Truly hands-free dock with auto emptying, mop washing, warm air drying and water refilling
- Zero-tangle brush system eliminates hair maintenance, great for pet households
- Precise LiDAR navigation and reactive obstacle avoidance for efficient coverage
- Highly customizable via app with multi-floor mapping and SmartPlan automation
Cons
- Only supports 2.4GHz WiFi, no 5GHz connectivity
- Large all-in-one dock requires significant floor space
- 10mm mop lift only avoids wetting low-pile carpets, not high-pile rugs
The Roborock Qrevo S5V is a premium robot vacuum and mop designed for busy households, pet owners and large homes that need powerful, automated cleaning. It combines strong vacuuming with intelligent mopping to handle carpets, hard floors and tight corners without daily intervention.
In real world use, the 12,000Pa HyperForce suction pulls embedded dirt and pet hair from rugs while the FlexiArm dual spinning mops at 200 RPM scrub edges and around furniture legs. The all-in-one dock automatically empties dust for up to 10 weeks, washes and warm-air dries mops, and refills water to cover over 3,500 sqft uninterrupted.
Build quality is solid and modern, with a rubberized floating main brush and arc-shaped side brush certified for zero hair tangling. PreciSense LiDAR creates accurate 360 degree maps for up to four floors, while reactive structured light sensors deftly avoid cables, toys and chair legs.
There are a few limitations to consider. The robot only connects to 2.4GHz WiFi which may frustrate users with dual band routers, and the sizable dock needs dedicated space. The 10mm mop lift also means it is best suited for hard floors and low-pile carpets rather than thick rugs.
Overall, the Qrevo S5V delivers a near hands-free cleaning experience with excellent suction, smart mopping and thoughtful automation. For pet families and anyone wanting edge-to-edge cleanliness with minimal maintenance, it is a compelling and highly capable choice.
Pros
- Powerful 5200Pa suction with adjustable levels for hard floors and low-pile carpets
- True 2-in-1 vacuum and mop with electronically controlled water tank and 4-stage adjustment
- Pet-friendly no-tangle brush design plus dual side brushes for hair pickup
- Slim, compact build easily fits under furniture
- Multiple control options including app, Alexa and Google Assistant voice control, and remote
Cons
- Best suited for hard floors and low-pile carpets, less effective on thick or high-pile rugs
- No advanced LiDAR mapping or auto-empty dock, so navigation and dustbin emptying are more basic
- Water tank and dustbin require manual refilling and emptying during larger cleaning sessions
The ROPVACNIC S1 is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop combo designed for effortless daily cleaning. It is ideal for pet owners, small to large households, and anyone wanting automated maintenance on hard floors and low-pile carpets without constant hands-on effort.
In real-world use, its 5200Pa suction and 3-point cleaning system pick up dust, crumbs and pet hair effectively. The electronically controlled mopping with four water levels handles light stains and footprints well, while app scheduling, voice control and remote operation make daily cleaning truly hands-free.
Design is practical and compact at just 2.99 inches tall and 12 inches wide, so it slips under sofas and beds with ease. Build quality is solid for its class, with a 4400mAh battery for extended runtimes, a spacious dustbin, and a simple package that includes mop holder, water tank, HEPA filter and side brushes.
Drawbacks are expected at this level. It lacks LiDAR-based precision mapping and an auto-empty base, so navigation relies on a smart sensing system that can miss complex layouts. It is also not intended for thick carpets, and the water tank needs refilling for bigger homes.
Overall, the ROPVACNIC S1 delivers strong value as an affordable, pet-friendly cleaning helper. If you want reliable vacuuming and mopping with smart controls and self-charging convenience without paying for premium features, it is a compelling pick.
Model: ROPVACNIC S1 Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo. Function: 2-in-1 vacuuming and electronically controlled mopping with 4-stage water adjustment.

What to Look for in a Robot Vacuum for Pet Hair
Suction Power and Brush Design That Actually Lifts Pet Hair
Suction is the first filter for pet homes, but raw power alone is not enough. You want a system that pulls embedded fur from carpet fibers and still captures fine dander on hard floors without scattering it. Models like the eufy E25 with 20,000 Pa and the eufy C28 with 15,000 Pa show how higher suction helps on rugs, while the ELLONI D15S MAX balances 10,000 Pa with an Auto Boost that ramps up on carpet.
Brush design matters just as much. A multi-surface brush with an edge-sweeping side brush, as seen on the iRobot Roomba 105 Combo, reaches corners where fur collects. If you have mostly hard floors, look for a floating main brush that stays close to the surface. Browse the full Vacuum Cleaners collection to see how brush types perform across floor types.
Anti-Tangle and Hair Management Systems
Pet hair quickly wraps around traditional rollers, which means you are cutting and pulling hair off the brush every few days. Zero-tangle or anti-tangle systems save you that chore. The roborock Qrevo S5V pairs a rubberized floating main brush with an arc-shaped side brush that is SGS-certified for 0% tangling, while the eufy C28 and E25 use DuoSpiral brushes designed to handle hair up to 30 cm without wrapping.
Other approaches are equally practical. The ELLONI D15S MAX uses a blade-equipped roller that cuts hair after the cleaning task to prevent buildup, and both Shark models rely on self-cleaning, anti-hair wrap brushrolls. The ROPVACNIC S1 takes a simpler route with a no-entanglement design and dual rotating side brushes that sweep hidden fur from under furniture. For homes with heavy shedding, prioritize these details over headline suction alone, and explore more Cleaning & Maintenance tips for reducing allergens between runs.
Navigation, Mapping and Obstacle Avoidance for Busy Pet Homes
Pet homes are obstacle courses. Toys, bowls, beds, and charging cables can stall a basic robot, so mapping and avoidance are essential. LiDAR-based navigation creates precise multi-level maps and lets you set no-go zones around water bowls or litter areas. The ELLONI D15S MAX uses dToF LiDAR with 360 degree avoidance, the Roomba 105 Combo uses ClearView LiDAR, and the Shark AI Ultra AV2501S uses 360 degree LiDAR for methodical Matrix Clean coverage.
More advanced systems add real-time object detection. The roborock Qrevo S5V uses structured light to steer around cables and suggests No-Go Zones under chairs, while the Shark Navigator RV2120AE with SmartPath Navigation detects and avoids everyday objects in its path. If privacy is a concern, the eufy C28 offers laser navigation without a camera, yet still avoids obstacles as small as 3 cm. Check our overview of top vacuum cleaners for carpets and hard floors to compare mapping accuracy across categories.
Self-Emptying, Mopping and Hands-Free Maintenance
Self-emptying docks change how often you interact with the vacuum. Bagged systems like the Roomba 105 Combo hold up to 75 days of debris and trap allergens, while the eufy E25 and C28 use a 3L bag for about 75 days and add auto mop washing with 50C hot air drying to prevent odor. Bagless options like the Shark AI Ultra with a 30-day HEPA base and the Shark Navigator with a 60-day bagless base avoid buying bags but need occasional filter care.
Mopping is a bonus for paw prints and drool marks, but execution varies. The eufy E25 and C28 use a HydroJet roller that refreshes with clean water multiple times per second and separates dirty water, so you are not just wiping with a damp pad. The roborock Qrevo S5V uses dual spinning pads at 200 RPM with a FlexiArm that extends to baseboards and lifts 10 mm on carpet, while the ROPVACNIC S1 offers electronically controlled mopping with four water levels for light daily upkeep. For larger homes, also consider runtime and recharge behavior, the ELLONI D15S MAX runs up to 160 minutes and the Shark AI Ultra offers Recharge and Resume to finish the job. You can find more comparisons in our Vacuum Cleaners buying guides and general Cleaning & Maintenance resources.
Who Shouldn’t Buy These
These robots are not ideal if you have mostly thick, high-pile rugs, need deep manual detail cleaning for stairs and upholstery, or want the lowest possible upfront investment without a dock. In those cases a traditional upright or corded stick with a motorized pet tool, or a budget bump-and-run bot without mapping, may serve you better than a feature-rich self-emptying system.
Final Thoughts
If you want maximum hands-free convenience with serious pet hair pickup, we recommend starting with eufy C28 Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo for its HydroJet roller and zero-tangle DuoSpiral brushes, or roborock Qrevo S5V Robot Vacuum and Mop for its FlexiArm mopping and SGS-certified tangle-free system. Both handle fur, dander, and daily messes with minimal intervention, so you can spend less time cleaning and more time with your pets.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should a robot vacuum run in a home with pets?
For one shedding pet, daily vacuuming keeps dander and fur from settling into rugs. For multiple pets or heavy seasonal shedding, a once-daily whole-home run plus a targeted pass in high-traffic zones works well in 2026. Use scheduling and room-specific cleaning to automate the routine so you do not have to think about it.
Do self-emptying robot vacuums really help with allergies?
Yes, when the dock uses a sealed bag and filtration that traps fine dust and allergens. Bagged docks like those on the Roomba 105 Combo and eufy models contain debris for weeks without releasing a cloud when you empty them. Bagless HEPA bases also help, but you will need to empty and maintain the bin and filter more carefully.
Can a robot vacuum and mop handle muddy paw prints?
A roller mop or dual spinning pads handle fresh paw prints and light spills far better than a simple damp pad. Look for systems that wash the mop during cleaning, lift on carpet, and let you adjust water flow by floor type. For dried or sticky messes, a manual spot clean before the robot runs still gives the best result. See our Vacuum Cleaners guides for tips on combining vacuuming and mopping.
What maintenance does a pet hair robot vacuum need?
Even with anti-tangle brushes, plan to check the roller and side brushes weekly, rinse or replace filters as indicated in the app, and refill or empty water tanks if you mop often. Self-washing and hot air drying, as on the eufy and roborock docks, reduce mold and odor, but occasional manual cleaning of sensors and wheels keeps navigation accurate.
