This page explains the process behind every review and roundup on BestForYourHome, so you know exactly how we arrive at our recommendations.
Our Process
- Define the buyer. Every roundup starts by identifying who the guide is for (budget, space, use case) and what matters most to that buyer.
- Set criteria first. Before we look at specific products, we define the criteria we will judge them on. These criteria are listed near the top of the article.
- Research and compare. We evaluate products using published manufacturer specifications, verified buyer feedback, and, where available, our own hands-on use. We do not fabricate specs, test results, or review counts.
- Score consistently. Products within the same article are judged against the same criteria, so rankings reflect the criteria, not arbitrary preference.
- Disclose trade-offs. Every recommendation includes both pros and cons, and we say plainly who should skip a given product.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not claim to have tested a product unless we genuinely have.
- We do not accept payment in exchange for a favorable review or higher ranking.
- We do not use empty superlatives (“the ultimate,” “game-changing”) in place of specific reasoning.
- We do not hide affiliate relationships. Disclosure appears before the first affiliate link in every article.
Keeping Content Current
Home improvement and furniture products change models frequently. We note the publish date and last-updated date on every article, and we revisit roundups when products are discontinued or replaced.
