Our 5-Step Review Process
Step 1: Research & Product Selection
We identify 10-15 products in each category through research of popular items, price ranges, innovations, user feedback, and expert consensus.
Step 2: Define Evaluation Criteria
Before reviewing any product, we establish 3-5 key criteria. This prevents bias and ensures consistent evaluation across all products.
Step 3: Research-Based Evaluation
We evaluate using manufacturer specs, owner reviews, expert opinions, product literature, and comparative analysis. Important: We don’t claim to have physically tested every product. We use “evaluate” and “research” to be honest about our methodology.
Step 4: Scoring System
We score each product on our Best For Home Rating system:
- Value (70% weight)
- Quality (20% weight)
- Durability (10% weight)
Overall score: 1.0-5.0 stars
Step 5: Writing & Editorial Review
Our expert author writes the review with balanced pros and cons. Our editorial team reviews for accuracy, bias-free language, and clear sourcing.
